Army Commander General Joseph Aoun visited the Fouad Chehab Military Academy, where he met with the officers of the 37th Staff Course, who will graduate next Thursday in the presence of the academy’s officers. General Aoun emphasized that a successful leader creates hope, overcomes difficulties, and devises solutions; he is the one who takes the initiative and leads his ship to safety. He pointed out that a leader's merit is revealed in exceptional circumstances.
Aoun told the officers: "Lebanon remains steadfast thanks to your belief in the sanctity of the mission, and friendly nations continue to extend a helping hand to the army. The trust of the Lebanese people and the international community in the military establishment is not unfounded, but a direct result of your achievements, thus it must be preserved at all costs." He addressed the exceptional phase Lebanon is going through: "The circumstances are difficult, but there is no such word as impossible, except in the dictionary of the weak. Sacrifice is at the heart of the army's motto because armies are built to sacrifice for the homeland and its people; they are the backbone of the country. Every day is a feast where we renew our successes and sacrifices. We have no choice but to cling to Lebanon and the army, and we will not leave the country a prey to criminals, terrorists, and those who disrupt security."
He concluded by thanking the Fouad Chehab Military Academy, its leadership, and its personnel for all their efforts.
