The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division revealed that, in the framework of their ongoing efforts to reduce thefts in various Lebanese areas, information was received by the Intelligence Division regarding an unknown individual committing thefts in the Shiyah area. A video clip circulated on social media showed him executing two thefts from a supermarket and an express store in the mentioned location.
Immediately, the specialized units of the division began their field and investigative procedures to uncover his identity, locate him, and arrest him. As a result of extensive investigations and inquiries, they identified him as S. K. (born in 1988, Lebanese).
On September 29, 2023, after careful monitoring, one of the division's patrols managed to arrest him in Ain el-Rammaneh and seized a small metal scissors and two wallets from him. During the investigation, he confessed to the thefts attributed to him in Shiyah, Ain el-Rammaneh, and Furn el-Shabback areas. He also admitted to drug use. Legal action was taken against him, and he, along with the confiscated items, was handed over to the relevant authorities, based on the instructions of the competent judiciary.
