UAE Supports Flood Victims in Seychelles

The United Arab Emirates sent an aid flight to the Republic of Seychelles today, carrying 50 tons of food supplies to meet the urgent humanitarian needs of thousands of families affected by the recent devastating floods, which caused severe damage in many areas. This effort was coordinated with several UAE humanitarian institutions.

Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Development and International Organizations, Sultan Al Shamsi, stated, "The UAE's humanitarian response operates under the guidance of the wise leadership, making every effort to continue providing humanitarian support aimed at alleviating the hardships of crises and humanitarian disasters that many countries around the world have recently faced due to climate change, whether through droughts, floods, or earthquakes, by providing food, medicine, and various relief materials according to the specifics of each humanitarian crisis."

He added, "The sending of this aid exemplifies the strong relations between the two friendly countries and the commitment of the UAE to its humanitarian responsibility, stemming from its leading role in extending a helping hand to countries suffering from conditions imposed by natural disasters, and contributing to mitigating the consequences of the severe climate changes that many countries worldwide are experiencing."
