The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division announced that "as part of the daily monitoring conducted by the Internal Security Forces to limit theft crimes in various Lebanese regions and pursue those involved in them for arrest, information was received about an unknown individual executing thefts from commercial shops in many areas of Mount Lebanon. His images were circulated on social media while committing these thefts. As a result, the specialized units began field and investigative procedures to identify him, where it was found that he was the same person who had stolen bags from employees inside one of the hospitals in Mount Lebanon, and his images were shared on social media at that time. Following intensive inquiries and investigations, the Information Branch was able to identify him; his name is R. L. (born in 1974, Lebanese), who has previous convictions for theft, resisting authority, and hitting a military vehicle.
On 13-09-2023, after careful surveillance, one of the branch's patrols managed to arrest him in the locality of Hadat, and upon searching him, a sum of money was seized. During the investigation, he confessed to the accusations against him related to executing multiple thefts in Mount Lebanon, including those circulated on social media. The necessary legal procedures were taken against him, and he was handed over along with the seized money to the relevant authority based on the judicial directive."
