Cameron stated, "I outlined the steps Israel needs to take to increase aid to Gaza and the United Kingdom's deep concern about the potential for a military strike on Rafah," emphasizing that it was "difficult but necessary talks."

In this context, the British Foreign Secretary expressed feeling "appalled by the news of the deaths of two sailors in a missile attack by the Houthis on a commercial ship in the Red Sea on Wednesday." Cameron wrote in a post on X: "We were appalled to hear about the deaths of members of the international crew of the MV True Confidence in a Houthi attack in the Red Sea. Our thoughts are with their families." He condemned the "reckless and indiscriminate attacks by the Houthis on international shipping and demanded that they cease. We will continue to defend freedom of navigation and support our words with actions."
