Pope Francis condemned all forms of anti-Judaism and antisemitism, describing it as a "sin," following an increase in attacks against Jews worldwide. In a letter addressed to Jews in Israel dated yesterday, but published today, the Pope stated that the Church "rejects all forms of anti-Judaism and antisemitism, and unequivocally condemns manifestations of hatred towards Jews and Judaism as a sin." He added, "With you, we Catholics feel deep concern over the significant rise in the number of attacks against Jews worldwide." The Pope noted that wars and divisions are increasing across the globe, "in a sort of fragmented global war," which exacerbates the suffering of many peoples. He once again called for the release of hostages still held by Hamas in his latest message. The Pope expressed, "My heart is with you, with the Holy Land, and with all who live there, Israelis and Palestinians, and I pray for the desire for peace to prevail among everyone."
