Palestinian Official: Medical Team and Trucks Enter Gaza

A Palestinian border official stated to Reuters that "a medical team and ten trucks carrying water, food, and medicine entered the Gaza Strip today, Friday, from the Rafah crossing with Egypt." He added, "This Friday morning, a medical delegation consisting of ten foreign doctors, along with ten trucks carrying water, food, and medicine, entered the Gaza Strip from the Rafah land crossing, bringing the total number of trucks since the beginning of the war to just 84." The United Nations humanitarian coordinator for the Palestinian territories, Lynn Hastings, told reporters in Geneva that "extensive negotiations are ongoing with Israel in an effort to provide more humanitarian corridors in the besieged territory." Hastings continued, saying, "In addition to technical and security issues, there are also political matters... and a certain level of pressure is being applied to the Israeli government regarding its internal policies." She confirmed that she is "aware of the existence of a thousand patients needing dialysis and more than 100 children and infants in incubators, so we are doing our utmost to try to prioritize according to the greatest needs." The Gaza Strip is facing ongoing airstrikes that have resulted in thousands of deaths in response to surprise attacks carried out by militants affiliated with Hamas on October 7.
