Sisi and Macron Agree to Work on Containing the Gaza Crisis

French President Emmanuel Macron emphasized today, Wednesday, that it is "crucial to avoid escalation in the region following the conflict between Israel and the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas)." During a joint press conference with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi in Cairo, Macron stated: "Humanitarian aid must enter Gaza without obstacles, and it is essential to deliver fuel supplies to hospitals." He continued: "A French naval ship will soon arrive to assist in providing support to Gaza's hospitals, and a plane loaded with essential supplies will arrive in Egypt."

For his part, President el-Sisi said that he "agreed with Macron, who is visiting Egypt, to work on containing the crisis in the Gaza Strip, providing aid, and seeking to prevent other parties from entering the conflict." El-Sisi noted that "Macron understands the seriousness of the idea of displacing Palestinians from Gaza towards Egyptian lands," stating, "We agreed that it is something we will not allow in Egypt, as it poses a danger to the cause itself." He added: "He condemns all actions that affect civilians and they should be dealt with by one standard."
