Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp has urged his team to maintain the pressure on their Premier League rivals in the final two rounds of the season, as they aim to secure a spot in the top four.
Liverpool ensured at least a spot in next season's Europa League following their 3-0 win over Leicester City on Monday, trailing just one point behind fourth-placed Manchester United and third-placed Newcastle United, despite each having one game in hand.
After securing their seventh consecutive win, Klopp expressed uncertainty six weeks ago about Liverpool's chances of playing in Europe. He stated, "I wasn't confident this would happen. We were lacking consistency at that time and there was only one chance to reach this position, which was to win all the available matches."
He added, "Everything else is out of our hands, but we know we must win all the matches until the end of the season to have a chance, and our mission is to keep the pressure on."
Liverpool will host Aston Villa on Saturday before concluding the season away against Southampton, who have already been relegated to the second division.
