Saraya Al-Quds, the military wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement, announced today, Wednesday, that it has delivered a number of civilian hostages as part of a swap deal with Israel. Meanwhile, an Israeli official involved in the negotiations stated today that "Israel believes Hamas has enough hostages, including women and children, to extend the current ceasefire in Gaza for an additional two or three days." The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, mentioned, "We know from the list of women and children that there are other hostages held by Hamas, allowing for at least two additional days, possibly three." He added, "Any further agreement will primarily be conditioned on the release of the remaining women and children, and we will not negotiate subsequent agreements before that." The official anticipated that "Hamas will release ten Israeli hostages today, in addition to two others, one holding Israeli nationality and the other Russian, to be released under a separate agreement between Hamas and Russia." This statement was made on the last day of a two-day extension of the ceasefire agreed upon to allow for the exchange of hostages held by Hamas for Palestinian detainees in Israeli prisons.
