Information obtained by "Lebanon Debates" indicates that the Council of Ministers has decided to reopen the real estate departments in Mount Lebanon, based on the report presented by the Minister of Finance yesterday, which was grounded in the opinions of both the Civil Service Council and the Central Inspection. The decision also came as a result of the continuous communications and meetings held by the head of the Finance and Budget Committee, MP Ibrahim Kanaan, with the relevant parties, especially after the positions he expressed in the committee tasked with studying the general budget regarding the lack of justification for paying taxes and fees if the administration remains inactive for any excuse. It is noted that thousands of billions in fees are not collected due to the closure of the departments in Mount Lebanon for a year, leading to a backlog of more than 50,000 transactions in the drawers. Furthermore, the Chairman of the Administration and Justice Committee, MP Georges Adwan, held a press conference on Wednesday after a session of the Administration and Justice Committee, during which he announced that "the committee dedicated its session to questioning the government and the relevant administration about the closure of the real estate departments in Mount Lebanon."
