Media outlets close to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard announced today, Friday, the killing of Reza Zarai, one of the Revolutionary Guard leaders in Syria, as a result of Israeli airstrikes on the Syrian city of Baniyas.

- Worked as a military advisor in Syria.
Other Iranian media reports mentioned that "Reza Zarai was killed along with two fighters from the Iranian-backed Lebanese group 'Hezbollah'." Reuters reported in February that "the Iranian Revolutionary Guard has reduced the deployment of its senior officers in Syria due to a series of Israeli strikes that resulted in casualties, and has increasingly relied on allied Shiite factions to maintain its influence there."
