Artificial intelligence technologies have revealed the identity of the champion of the 22nd edition of the FIFA World Cup, scheduled to be hosted by Qatar from November 20 to December 18, 2022. The global network "Opta," specialized in football statistics, recently used one of the artificial intelligence techniques to assess the chances of teams in the 2022 World Cup.
According to the network on its official website, if France and Brazil top their groups in the World Cup, there is a strong possibility of their reaching the final. Based on Opta's data, the French national team, the current World Cup champion, has the highest chance of winning the title for the second consecutive time and the third in its history, with a probability of 17.93%. Brazil, a five-time world champion, last winning in 2002, comes in second place with a probability of 15.73%. Spain follows in third place with an 11.53% chance, then England in fourth place at 8.03%, and Belgium in fifth place at 7.90%.
For Arab teams, the technology sees no chance for the Saudi team to win the title, while the Qatari team, as the host country, has a 0.35% chance. Tunisia and Morocco have equal chances to win the title, but at a very low percentage of 0.01% each.
Below are the identities of the teams advancing from each group to the Round of 32 according to Opta's technique:
- Group A: Netherlands and Ecuador
- Group B: England and Iran
- Group C: Argentina and Mexico
- Group D: France and Denmark
- Group E: Spain and Germany
- Group F: Belgium and Croatia
- Group G: Brazil and Switzerland
- Group H: Portugal and Uruguay.
