U.S. President Joe Biden expressed his shock today, Tuesday, upon learning of the death of Itay Chen, who held both American and Israeli citizenship, in the attack carried out by Hamas on October 7. In a statement issued by the White House, Biden said, "I reaffirm my commitment to all the families of those still held hostage: we are with you, we will never stop working to bring your loved ones home." It was believed that Chen, who was serving in the Israeli army near the Gaza border, was being held hostage by Hamas.
