The General Directorate of Drug Affairs in Iraq announced today, Tuesday, the arrest of 13 drug dealers in possession of 18,000 narcotic pills. A statement from the directorate noted that "under the personal supervision of Interior Minister Abdul Amir al-Shammari, and as part of the specialized security operations conducted by the General Directorate of Drug Affairs, following clashes and ongoing field follow-ups, nine drug dealers were arrested in Babylon province after ambushes were set up for them, and they were found with 18,000 pills of Captagon." It continued: "Four more drug dealers were also arrested in Diyala and Maysan while caught red-handed with 2 kilograms of crystal meth, along with a number of medium and light weapons and explosive grenades."
