Armed Attack on Lebanese Forces Center: To Put an End to Loose Weapons

The Lebanese Forces party revealed that at 11:45 PM on Wednesday-Thursday, a vehicle drove through the Hosh al-Amara neighborhood in Zahlé, occupied by three armed young men: Ali Ghazwan Sharaf, Mahdi Aatif Al-Droubi, and Mahdi Adnan Farhat. They were loudly playing pro-resistance party anthems that do not align with the sentiments of the locals, and they deliberately passed in front of the Lebanese Forces center in an attempt to provoke the area's youth and residents, who requested that the armed men lower the volume, especially since it was close to midnight, in order to avoid any conflict. However, the response came in the form of gunfire directed at the "Lebanese Forces" center, which was hit by three bullets without anyone being harmed.

In a statement issued by the Lebanese Forces in the Zahlé region, the party condemned "this deliberate attack that occurred yesterday," affirming its "respect for freedom of expression, which stands and falls at the limits of the freedom of others." The "Lebanese Forces" emphasized the necessity of "putting an end to the loose militia weapons that have become a real danger, which may provoke undesired responses with serious consequences." They praised "the role of security forces who are following up on the case, pursuing the shooters who fled, and demanding their arrest and referral to the competent judiciary to impose the harshest penalties on them, which rise to charges of forming armed gangs, disturbing public security, and threatening peaceful citizens with death."
