The Italian energy group Eni announced on Thursday that it has "drilled a second well to assess the size of the Chronos gas discovery off the coast of Cyprus." The Chronos-2 well was drilled to confirm the lateral extension of the discovery, located approximately three kilometers away. Eni stated that "drilling Chronos-2 shortly after the discovery of the Chronos well confirms Eni and its partner TotalEnergies' commitment to move quickly toward selecting the most suitable and economically viable development solution," adding that "the discovery will contribute to supporting gas supplies to Europe and the region."
