A Critical Juncture
The world is just hours away from the commencement of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change "COP28," taking place in Expo City Dubai from November 30 to December 12, where the United Arab Emirates is preparing to achieve the highest climate ambitions. This edition of the United Nations Climate Conference represents a critical juncture in the history of combating climate change, following the Paris Agreement "COP21" held in France in 2015, which is the first legally binding global agreement aimed at limiting global warming to below 2 degrees Celsius and continuing efforts to limit the temperature rise to 1.5 degrees Celsius compared to pre-industrial levels.
