Video: Sailor Captures Final Moments Before Turkish Ship Sinks

Social media platforms circulated a video documenting the final moments of a sailor before he drowned on a Turkish cargo ship in the Sea of Marmara on Thursday. The clip, filmed by the sailor, shows him hoping to survive while aboard the vessel, as water poured fiercely inside the tanker, which had a crew of six.

In another video, the man appeared in a state of extreme fear and terror, discussing the unfolding events before the ship's sinking. Two days earlier, Turkey announced the sinking of a cargo ship off the coast of Marmara, southwest of Imralı Island, and reported that the crew was missing.

Turkish authorities launched a search and rescue operation for the six crew members of the ship named "Batuhan A," which is 69 meters long. The Coast Guard stated that the ship began to sink due to adverse weather and sea conditions, and vessels were dispatched to the area where the ship sank, noting that two tugboats were allocated to the region and an empty lifeboat was found in the area considered where the commercial ship had sunk.
