The Russian Central Election Commission announced today, Saturday, that the voter turnout in the Russian presidential elections on the second day reached 57.11%. The commission stated in a statement that "the voter turnout in the presidential elections across the country reached 50.01% by 16:13 Moscow time." Four candidates are competing for the position of President of the Russian Federation in the upcoming elections: the current president Vladimir Putin (independent candidate), and three candidates from parties represented in parliament: Leonid Slutsky (Liberal Democratic Party), Vladislav Davankov (New People), and Nikolai Kharitonov (Communist Party of the Russian Federation).
