Former U.S. President Donald Trump is appearing before the Washington Court of Appeals to argue for immunity from prosecution on charges of conspiracy to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election. Trump is doing everything possible to delay his criminal trials for as long as he can, potentially until after the election. Judge Tanya Chutkan, who will preside over the federal trial sessions, denied a first request for immunity confirmation in early December, stating that there is no provision protecting a former president from criminal prosecutions. The billionaire, accused in four criminal cases and seeking the Republican nomination for the November 2024 elections, is set to go on trial starting March 4, related to his attempts to overturn the 2020 presidential election results, which he lost to President Joe Biden.
