A delegation headed by the Governor of the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization, Saad bin Othman Al-Qasabi, visited the Japanese capital Tokyo on Monday to discuss enhancing trade relations, addressing challenges faced by exporters, manufacturers, and the Japanese business sector, and improving cooperation in product safety. During bilateral meetings with officials from both the public and private sectors, the Governor discussed several topics of mutual interest and ways to strengthen cooperation between the two sides, aiming to enhance inter-trade between the two countries, collaborate on product safety and conformity, and transfer specialized knowledge in related sectors. The visit included a workshop to introduce the Saudi experience in product safety, activate communication with international manufacturers and exporters, and raise awareness of standard specifications, technical regulations, and conformity verification procedures (quality mark - energy efficiency label - electric vehicle certification), contributing to increased trade exchange, reducing technical barriers to trade, and strengthening cooperative relationships and partnerships with corresponding entities and manufacturers.
