The meetings between "Hezbollah" and "the Free Patriotic Movement" began earnestly with a meeting that took place yesterday in Mirna El-Chalouhi. In this context, "Al-Jadeed" reported that the first meeting between the "movement" and the "party" was held in Mirna El-Chalouhi yesterday, attended by Alaan Aoun, Antoine Custum, Gabi Leon, and Tony Abboud from the movement, and MP Ali Fayyad and Abdul Halim Fadlallah from the party.
According to "Al-Jadeed" information, the movement emphasizes municipal revenues to maintain balance between regions, while Hezbollah focuses on not being drawn into any formula that leads to division and federalism. Sources from Hezbollah emphasized that "we will not accept any step that carries the essence of governance in the form of the Mutasarrifate."
The information pointed out that both sides agree that the path of negotiation is still long and has not yet delved into the core demands of the movement, particularly those related to the sovereign fund as a priority. It was noted that the second meeting between Hezbollah and the movement will be held mid-next week, but the discussion remains strictly technical, related to municipalities, their financial collection, and divisions.
