The President of the Lebanese Forces party, Samir Jaja, received the British Ambassador, Hamish Cowell, accompanied by Second Secretary at the embassy, Alice Mouse, in the presence of Minister of Foreign Relations of the party, former Minister Richard Kiyomjan, and the official in the department, Mark Saad. After discussing local and regional developments, Jaja expressed his regret regarding the stance of the caretaker government, which, instead of fulfilling its duties to achieve the interests of Lebanon and its people, handed over the decision to a group and allowed them to turn the country into a battlefield and a bargaining chip on the table of the turbulent region.
Jaja confirmed that "everything happening today could have been avoided by electing a president if those obstructing would have ceased their prolongation of hindrances based on flimsy self-serving arguments." The regional developments were also present in the discussions, where Jaja emphasized that we will not witness any stability in the region without solving the Palestinian issue, and that it is time to take stances coupled with actions on this file, which has exhausted the region and the people of Lebanon and Palestine for more than 70 years.
Jaja, who thanked the United Kingdom for its efforts in supporting Lebanese military institutions, especially the Lebanese army, hoped for the continuation of this support during these difficult days, due to the army's role in establishing stability and implementing international resolutions, especially Resolution 1701.
