Minister of Social Affairs: We Support Political Solutions Based on Justice

The Minister of Social Affairs in the caretaker government, Hector Hajjar, emphasized that "we are against any new displacement process, whether for Palestinians from their land or for Lebanese from their villages. We are in favor of finding political solutions based on justice and rights, completely detached from any land confiscation projects under any pretext."

During his participation in the fifth regular session of the Arab Council for Population and Development in Cairo, he referred to the issue of Syrian displacement, stating that "Lebanon, a small country in size and population, is the first country in the world in terms of the number of refugees compared to its population, and it is the first country in the world where the number of refugees and displaced persons equals nearly half of its population, leading to numerous repercussions at all levels."

Hajjar called on Arab countries to "enhance Arab solidarity in the face of threats facing the region to preserve the security of Arab peoples and countries," adding: "No to fragmenting the region into warring states, no to demographic change, and no to displacement and forced population transfer."
