A complaint was received by the Cyber Crime and Intellectual Property Protection Bureau within the Judicial Police Unit from a citizen against an unknown individual for extortion and threats to publish inappropriate images. As a result of the investigations and inquiries conducted by the bureau, and in accordance with a statement from the General Directorate of Internal Security Forces, the suspect's location and identity were determined, leading to his arrest. He is identified as M. K. (born in 2000, Lebanese).
During interrogation, he confessed to threatening and extorting the complainant by threatening to publish inappropriate images of her on social media in an attempt to establish an intimate relationship and obtain additional photos from her. A search of his mobile phone revealed photos and videos of the complainant, as well as images of several other girls, and numerous social media accounts that he used for the same purpose.
Therefore, based on the instructions from the competent judiciary, the General Directorate of Internal Security Forces is circulating the suspect's image and his accounts. They request that individuals who have been subjected to similar operations contact the aforementioned bureau at the number 293293-01 to take the necessary legal actions. This General Directorate also advises citizens not to take inappropriate photographs or videos of themselves under any circumstances or pressure, in order to avoid falling victim to exploitation by others, and urges them to report such cases immediately.
