The UAE national beach soccer team has risen to 7th place globally for the first time in its history, according to the ranking for March 2024 announced by the executive committee of the sport in the FIFA on its official website yesterday, after earning 2019.25 points. Our national team maintained its lead among Arab teams for the third consecutive time since the ranking in November 2023, while it slipped to third place in Asia, behind Japan and Iran, after holding second place in the rankings of November 2023 and January 2024.
Recently, the beach soccer team participated in the Beach Soccer World Cup hosted by the UAE at the Dubai Design District from February 15 to 25, with the participation of 16 teams. Our national team achieved a perfect score during the group stage, winning against Egypt (2 - 1), the USA (3 - 2) in extra time, and Italy (3 - 1) in penalties, thus qualifying for the second round. However, they faced a defeat against Iran (1 - 2) after delivering a strong performance in that match.
With significant fan support, the players managed to continue achieving milestones for UAE beach soccer during the "UAE 2024" World Cup, making our national team the first Arab team to win all its matches in the group stage, and the first Arab team to qualify for the quarter-finals of the global World Cup before the end of the group stage with one round remaining since the 2007 edition.
