A complaint was received by the Cybercrime and Intellectual Property Protection Bureau in the Judicial Police Unit from a mother regarding her minor daughter who was subjected to blackmail, threats, and defamation through an Instagram account named "Nanu.merhii" and another on TikTok under the name "@nanu.merhi1". The blackmailer threatened the girl to publish her photos if she did not send him more inappropriate images. When the girl complied with the blackmailer's demands, he began asking for more money.
As a result of investigations and inquiries, the bureau's officers were able to identify the suspect and arrest him in the Sidon area. He is identified as M. Sh. (born in 2004, Lebanese). During the interrogation, he confessed to contacting the minor through a girl's account and stealing her photos. He then obtained some images from her and started blackmailing her both financially and sexually. Upon examining his mobile phone, it was found that he had images and videos of the complainant, as well as pictures of several young men and women. He had created multiple accounts on social media for the same purpose.
Consequently, the directorate, based on the directives of the competent judiciary, circulated the photo of the arrested individual and the accounts he used, requesting those who have experienced similar cases to contact the aforementioned bureau at the number: 293293-01, to take the necessary legal actions. The Instagram accounts include: l5yat_hehemona6 and Lynn_hnkekekellssss.
The directorate also urged citizens not to take inappropriate photographs or record videos of themselves under any circumstances or pressures that might be exerted on them, to avoid falling victim to exploitation by others, and to not hesitate to report such cases immediately.
