The Russian Pacific Fleet announced the entry of two of its warships into the Red Sea via the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, following maneuvers in the Gulf of Aden as part of the fleet's missions, according to the TASS agency. It pointed out that "the ships are the cruiser Varyag and the frigate Marshal Shaposhnikov," and that "the crews of both ships trained on various scenarios for combating supposed enemy activities." The ships of the Pacific Fleet continue their missions as part of a routine sea voyage in international waters.
