The "Liwa International" Festival will conclude tomorrow, Sunday, with the "Maraaba Hill Climb" car race, featuring three categories: "Open Category," "Agency Category," and "Hilux Category." Each competitor will have the opportunity to make two attempts to achieve the best time.
The organizing committee at the "Liwa" Sports Club announced the completion of preparations for the final events, welcoming festival-goers on the last day in cooperation with the Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi.
The hill climb competitions began yesterday, Friday, with three categories: electric cars, "6 Cylinder Turbo," and "8 Cylinder Gas."
Mohammed Rashid Al Jabri secured first place in the "8 Cylinder Gas" category with a time of 5.830 seconds, followed by Mishaal Mohammed Al Khalidi from Saudi Arabia in second place with 5.842 seconds, and Khalid Abdullah Rashid in third with 5.997 seconds.
Abdullah Mohammed Al Dahmani took first place in the "6 Cylinder Turbo" category with a time of 6.565 seconds, followed by Mohammed Amin Ismail in second with 6.649 seconds, and Khalid Abdullah Rashid in third with 7.211 seconds. The first trial of electric car competitions was also highly successful.
On the final day, the festival will celebrate the arrival of the new calendar year 2024, beginning a countdown on the Maraaba dunes with fireworks and special drone shows.
