Tourist Trip Turns into Tragedy in Thailand

Officials announced today, Friday, that more than 12 tourists from Denmark in Thailand were injured after losing control of the bus they were on, which crashed in the mountainous and remote Mae Hong Son province in the north of the country. The accident resulted in the death of the 50-year-old tour bus driver after he was taken to the hospital following the incident late yesterday, Thursday. The local mayor, Anik Pantayom, told Reuters that 13 Danish tourists are receiving treatment in the hospital, with four of them sustaining serious injuries and fractures. The official Thai radio reported that the tourists were on their way to a party.
