South African Labor Minister Thulas Nxesi reiterated his country's call for an immediate ceasefire and humanitarian assistance in the Gaza Strip, urging the international community to act swiftly to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people. This was stated by Nxesi on Thursday during the 350th session of the International Labour Organization's Governing Body regarding the urgent crisis in the occupied Palestinian territories, particularly in Gaza, according to the South African government news agency. He stated: "There is an urgent need for basic services and humanitarian aid to address the famine and difficult living conditions faced by the Palestinians in Gaza." Nxesi urged member states of the International Labour Organization, which have announced a halt to funding for humanitarian work carried out by some United Nations agencies in Gaza, to reconsider their decision.
