Attack South of Jerusalem Leaves Israeli Security Personnel Injured

A border guard recruit and an Israeli security guard were injured, described as between serious and moderate, in a stabbing attack at the Mizmoria checkpoint south of Jerusalem. The Israeli police stated that the assailant arrived at the checkpoint in his car, exited, and first stabbed the recruit before attacking the security guard, after which soldiers fired at him. The Israeli broadcasting authority reported that the assailant is a resident of Jabal Mukaber in Jerusalem. This incident comes during a peak of security alert in the West Bank, including the city of Jerusalem, which has witnessed several stabbing and shooting attacks amidst the ongoing war on Gaza for about three months. The Gaza Ministry of Health announced that the death toll from the Israeli aggression on the sector has risen to 21,320, with 55,603 injured, in addition to massive destruction in residential areas, vital facilities, and hospitals.
