The Federal Intelligence and Investigation Agency in Iraq announced today, Saturday, the arrest of three suspects who were planning to sell a child in Baghdad. The agency stated in a statement that "the Agency's teams continue their effective operations to combat human trafficking, as the Organized Crime Prevention Directorate's Human Trafficking Division received information regarding three suspects, including a woman, who intended to sell a five-year-old child for a monetary amount." It added that "an intelligence task force was immediately formed, and the suspects were caught in the act, and the child (the victim) was taken and placed with the relevant authorities for care," indicating that "the operation was carried out after obtaining the necessary judicial approvals."
