Kylian Mbappé scored a hat-trick to propel Paris Saint-Germain to the top of Ligue 1 with a 3-0 victory over Stade Reims, who are in fourth place, on Saturday. The reigning champions, Paris Saint-Germain, lead the standings with 27 points, one point ahead of Nice, who drew 0-0 with Montpellier last Friday.
Mbappé opened the scoring after three minutes, receiving a cross unmarked at the far post and calmly shooting towards the bottom corner of the net. He doubled the visitors' lead in the 59th minute, evading his marker to slot the ball home from a low cross into the far post.
Eight minutes before the end, the 24-year-old French forward scored his third with a direct shot from inside the penalty area. Stade Reims enjoyed periods of good possession and created chances but could not get past Paris Saint-Germain's goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.
