Death of a Person Due to Explosion in India

Security officials announced that "one person has died and another was injured as a result of a bomb explosion in a college in Imphal, the capital of Manipur state in northeastern India, last night, and no group has claimed responsibility for the explosive device." One of the officials mentioned that "one person has died and another is receiving treatment in the hospital." Manipur has been experiencing violent clashes since May between members of the majority Meitei ethnic group and the minority Kuki group due to the sharing of economic benefits and allocations granted to the two tribes, with nearly 200 people killed in the conflict. The city of Imphal, which is inhabited by the Meitei community, has witnessed several incidents of violence since the conflict first erupted.
