An Egyptian court has sentenced a well-known doctor to two years in prison for nearly ending the life of a famous presenter due to fatal medical errors. The Cairo New Court for Misdemeanors ruled against the physician responsible for the serious health crisis faced by presenter İman al-Hosari, also obligating him to pay a financial bail.
The incident dates back to April 2021 when the well-known presenter underwent intestinal and colon surgery at a hospital. Her condition rapidly deteriorated, placing her life in jeopardy. It was determined that the doctor who performed the surgery made a medical error, resulting in the need for a subsequent operation to correct it. However, he caused additional mistakes, leading to the presenter undergoing seven consecutive surgeries within 21 days.
Her health continued to worsen, necessitating treatment abroad, where the medical team successfully rectified all the errors made, resulting in an improvement in her condition and her eventual recovery.
