The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry described the Russian presidential elections, which are also taking place in Ukrainian occupied territories, as "illegal and void" and urged its international partners not to recognize the results. The ministry stated in a press release that "the electoral campaign in the territories occupied by Russia has shown that Moscow continues to blatantly disregard the norms and principles of international law."
