Return: Is There a Worse Situation Than What We Are In for Relevant Persons to Elect a President?

Metropolitan of Beirut and its Dependencies for the Greek Orthodox, Bishop Elias Audi, said, "A year has passed since the vacancy of the presidential office and other essential positions, as if nothing strange or lacking has occurred, and as if life has become limited to the bare minimum requirements for living. Lebanon, which was once a leader in its role, democracy, and diplomacy, is absent from its role and stance in these critical circumstances. Crucial moments in history demand exceptional and courageous positions, and we are in a region on fire, the flames of which may reach us. Is there any situation more dangerous than what we are in for the concerned parties to take decisive action and elect a president for the country, starting the process of state formation and fortification, preventing any risk to Lebanon while we firmly reject injustice and consistently stand by the truth? With that, Lebanon's role, which we hope will be pioneering, begins." He concluded: "We hope that our officials will think rationally and prioritize the interests of Lebanon, safeguarding it from any disaster that may befall it."
