Good News for Egyptians: Suspension of Electricity Cuts During Ramadan

The Egyptian National Control Center for the electricity network will implement the government's decision to suspend load shedding throughout the month of Ramadan, in honor of the holy month. A responsible source from the Egyptian Electricity Holding Company confirmed to the Egyptian newspaper "Al-Watan" the commitment of branches and networks of electricity distribution companies at the levels of villages, centers, and neighborhoods. These include "North Cairo Distribution Electricity, South Cairo Distribution Electricity, Alexandria Distribution Electricity, Canal Distribution Electricity, North Delta Distribution Electricity, South Delta Distribution Electricity, Beheira Distribution Electricity, Middle Egypt Distribution Electricity, and Upper Egypt Distribution Electricity," to apply the government's decision to halt electricity load shedding and disconnection. Egypt is working to maintain its mitigation plan amid rising global fuel prices, coinciding with a decline in electricity production from new and renewable energy sources.
