Iraqi Plane Crash and Attack on Police Center in Samarra

A security source reported on the night of Monday to Tuesday that a Colonel was killed and several others were injured when an Iraqi army plane crashed in Kirkuk, while ISIS launched an attack on the Federal Police in Samarra. The source stated that "a military aircraft belonging to the Iraqi army encountered a technical malfunction that caused it to crash within the Tuz Khurmatu district in Kirkuk due to bad weather," adding that "the incident resulted in the death of a Colonel and injuries to two others, who are believed to be officers as well." In the same context, the sources noted that "two members of the Federal Police were injured while repelling an attack by ISIS elements in the Al-Mu'tasim district of Samarra."
