Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak stated today, Wednesday, that "most of Russia's oil exports this year have been shipped to China and India, after Moscow quickly redirected its supplies away from Europe in response to the economic sanctions imposed by the West." In an interview with the official Russia-24 channel, Novak said, "Moscow has successfully avoided the sanctions imposed on its oil and has redirected its flows from Europe to China and India, which together receive about 90% of Russian crude exports." He added, "Russia had already started building relationships with Asia-Pacific countries before the West imposed sanctions on Moscow after the conflict in Ukraine began in February 2022." Novak noted, "Regarding those restrictions and bans on supplies to Europe and the United States... this has only accelerated the process of redirecting our energy flows." He further stated, "Europe's share of Russian crude oil exports has decreased to only 4 to 5%, down from 40 to 45%."
