The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division reported that on August 28, 2023, an unidentified woman stole a bag containing more than $50,000 and gold jewelry from a jewelry store in Nabatieh and fled to an unknown location. Immediately, the Information Branch of the Internal Security Forces began its investigations and inquiries to identify the perpetrator. As a result of diligent follow-up, they were able to reveal her identity as R.N. (born in 1965, Lebanese), who has a criminal history of theft and pickpocketing, with over thirty prior convictions.
On the same date, after careful observation and tracking, patrols from the branch located her in the al-Fawar area of Sidon and arrested her. Upon searching her and her home, the following was confiscated: $51,976, 462,723,000 Lebanese pounds, 200 Australian dollars, 668,000 Syrian pounds, Euro coins, Nepali banknotes, and Emirati currency, in addition to 9 mobile phones, a "Magnum" type handgun, gold jewelry, a quantity of Brazilian gold, "Fobijo" items, and prayer beads.
During the investigation, she confessed to committing the theft of the money and jewelry bag in Nabatieh and to carrying out numerous pickpocketing and thefts previously in the regions of Tripoli, Sidon, Nabatieh, and Sabra. The stolen money and jewelry were returned to their rightful owner, and legal proceedings were initiated against the arrested individual.
Based on the indication of the competent judiciary, the General Directorate of Internal Security Forces has circulated her photo and requests that anyone who fell victim to her crimes visit the Southern Information Branch located in the Sidon Courthouse or contact one of the following phone numbers: 07-755003 / 07-775009 to take necessary legal action.
