Title: Four Syrian Soldiers Killed in Israeli Attack Near Damascus

Early on Monday, Syrian state media reported, citing a military source, that an Israeli missile attack targeted the outskirts of the capital Damascus, resulting in the deaths of four soldiers and injuries to four others, alongside causing "some material losses." The military source stated, "Around 2:20 AM today, the Israeli enemy launched an aerial assault from the direction of the occupied Golan Heights, targeting several points in the vicinity of Damascus." He added, "Syrian air defenses intercepted the Israeli missiles and shot down some of them." The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that it documented the deaths of two other fighters affiliated with non-Syrian armed groups allied with Damascus in the attack. The Observatory's director, Rami Abdel Rahman, could not confirm the nationalities of the other two fatalities. The targeted sites included warehouses near Damascus Airport. Israel has been conducting attacks for years on what it describes as "Iran-related targets in Syria," where Iranian influence has increased since Tehran began supporting Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in the civil war that broke out in 2011.
