Russia Attacks Avdiivka from All Directions and the Situation is "Difficult"

The mayor of Avdiivka in eastern Ukraine stated today, Thursday, that large numbers of Russian forces are attacking the town from all directions, and the situation is becoming increasingly difficult for the Ukrainian troops defending it. Vitaly Barabash, in comments broadcast on television, said, "The enemy is pressing from all directions. They are storming with very large forces," describing the situation as "difficult and extremely intense." He added that there are now only 941 residents left in the town, which previously had a population of 32,000. In its daily report on the situation in Avdiivka, the Ukrainian army stated that Kyiv's forces are countering the Russian troops. It added, "Our soldiers are defending with great cohesion and have inflicted significant losses on the invaders." The Ukrainian ground forces indicated that the situation is tense in the eastern part of the country.
