Containment of Wildfires in Greece and Warnings of a New Heatwave

Wildfires have largely been contained across Greece as of Thursday, after devastating large areas of vegetation, trees, and dozens of homes over several days. A fire department official stated, "The fire west of Athens has been contained after causing mass evacuations earlier this week. Firefighters are still on-site, supported by water-dumping aircraft, in case the fire reignites." A second heatwave is expected to begin today, with temperatures exceeding 40 degrees Celsius in some areas, potentially rising to 44 degrees Celsius tomorrow, Friday.
