The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division issued the following statement: "As part of ongoing efforts by the Internal Security Forces to combat crimes, pursue those involved, and arrest them, and after an increase in recent thefts from vehicles parked near the popular market in the town of Marj - Western Beqaa by an unidentified individual, the specialized units of the Information Branch were tasked with conducting field and investigative measures to identify the perpetrator and work on apprehending him.
As a result of the extensive inquiries and investigations conducted by the branch, the identity of the suspect was determined. His name is A. R. L. (born in 2005, Lebanese). On 28/08/2023, following careful surveillance, one of the patrols managed to arrest him in the act, in the mentioned town, while he was stealing the contents of a vehicle.
Upon searching him, he was found in possession of keys used for opening vehicles and stealing their contents, two screwdrivers, a driving license, and a vehicle registration that he had stolen on that date. During the investigation, he confessed to the charges against him regarding carrying out numerous thefts from vehicles parked near the popular market in Marj using the keys found in his possession. He also admitted that he transfers the amounts of money resulting from the thefts to his brother in Turkey via money transfer offices.
Legal action was taken against him, and he was handed over along with the seized items to the relevant authority, based on the instructions of the competent judiciary."
