Peskov told reporters, "As far as we know, and according to all the rules, the prison service is conducting examinations and clarifications." He added that "no special arrangement is required due to the set of existing rules used as guidelines." When asked about reports suggesting that the death was due to a blood clot, Peskov replied, "I don’t know... doctors should find that out." The Kremlin spokesperson, Dmitry Peskov, also mentioned that Russian President Vladimir Putin has been informed of reports regarding Alexei Navalny's death, as reported by the state media agency "RIA Novosti." The Russian prison service stated that it is investigating Navalny's "sudden death."
