"UNRWA": 137,000 Displaced People in Our Schools in Gaza

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) announced that over 137,000 people in Gaza have sought refuge in 83 of its schools. UNRWA spokesperson Tamara Al-Rifai stated that the number of displaced persons who have arrived at UNRWA schools has surpassed 137,000, and the agency is not equipped to accommodate more than 150,000 individuals, while large-scale displacement continues amid intensifying bombardment.

She explained that half a million people have stopped receiving vital food assistance due to the closure of all 14 food distribution centers. Additionally, it was reported that one UNRWA staff member and three of its students have died amid the Israeli bombardment of the Gaza Strip.

The "Al-Aqsa Flood" operation launched by Hamas has entered its fourth day, with Israel intensifying its airstrikes on Gaza and expanding its targets to include southern Lebanon and near the Egyptian border. It is noted that during this operation, thousands of rockets have been launched from Gaza, and there have been significant efforts involving incursions into several settlements in the Gaza envelope, leading to street battles between Palestinian fighters and Israeli forces, which responded by launching "Iron Swords" operation and carrying out heavy airstrikes on Gaza.
