The heavy rains that fell this week caused soil erosion in the Sharhabil area in Baqosta, leading to the collapse of a support wall that threatened two residential buildings. The Mayor of Baqosta, Ibrahim Mazhar, quickly arrived with municipal police to assess the situation, and engineers from the civil planning department were called to evaluate the technical condition of the buildings. Communication was made with the Governor of Southern Lebanon to inform him of the circumstances. Following the initial technical assessment by the engineers and the review by the governor, the Mayor of Baqosta issued a notice to evacuate residents immediately for public safety, confirming that the municipality will follow up on this matter with the engineering team to begin reinforcement procedures for the buildings and the return of residents.
